Tokai university was to exchange "agreement about cooperation in the field of earth observation" with National Space Development Agency of Japan (NASDA). The ceremony of signature was held in Tokai university members club, Tokyo on August 2, 1996.
At the ceremony, Dr.Matsumae, President of Tokai university Educational Systems, Dr.Sakata, Director of Tokai university Research & Information Center (TRIC) and the staffs were present from Tokai university side. And Mr.Matsui, President of NASDA, Mr.Yoshimura, Exective trustee of NASDA, Mr.Iida, Vice Director of earth observation system head office, and the person in charge of earth observation system head office were present from NASDA side. The signing ceremony was done in peaceful mood.
Tokai university Space Information Center (TSIC) has been carried on receiving earth observation satellites data, including marine observation MOS- 1 launched by NASDA, for approximately 10 years. As the result, TSIC has gained considerable success as satellite data receiving station. Also cooperation in the field of image analysis technique is advanced between TRIC and NASDA recently. Further cooperation extending over the whole earth observation is expected in the future by cooperation agreement of this time.
