CATCON

1. What is CATCON ?
CATCON is the name of a software contest organized by the ISPRS Commission VI working group 2: Computer Assisted Teaching (CAT) in 1996.
The main objective of the contest was to promote the development and dissemination of good/user-friendly software packages, WWW contents as well as data sets for computer assisted teaching. In general, the software or dataset is prefer to be non-commercial and prefer to be provided to the users on free of charge.

3. Who could nominate to CATCON ?
Anyone who planed to register to the ISPRS congress had the right to nominate one's software, WWW contents or dataset to the contest on free of charge.

4. How the winners were selected ?
At the contest, each nominator will be given five to ten minutes of presentation for explaining his or her software/WWW site/dataset in advance to one or two hours of demonstration. The participants are requested to vote for the best software. The contest committee consists of the council of ISPRS and Commission VI related professionals will select the winners of the contest considering the result of the voting.

5.Schedule
The CATCON 3 is planed to be organized at the 20th ISPRS Congress to be held in Istanbul in 2004. The details are not decided yet.
