1.The First Image of ALOS/PRISM
JAXA has launched the Advanced Land Observing Satellite(ALOS) on January 24, 2006. Today, February 15, JAXA has released the first image of PRISM sensor onboard ALOS. For details see
 
The Commission VI is inviting JAXA to exhibit the latest outcome of ALOS at the Commission VI Symposium.
 
2. Abstract Submission 
We would like to remind you that the deadline for abstract submission for the Symposium is February 28. If you plan to submit a paper, please send your abstract to

Important dates:

28 February 2006   : Deadline for Abstract submission  
31 March.    2006   : Deadline for Full Paper for applying to Student Award
10 April        2006  : Deadline for Full Paper

 

The organizing committee of Commission VI Symposium will be presenting  the Young Authors Award including 500$ to the young authors who have submitted excellent papers to the symposium.

 

3. JICA NET Distance Education
During the Conference we will visit JICA(Japan International Cooperation Agency) and watch a distance education lecture of  Shunji Murai, Professor Emeritus of Tokyo University to scientists in several South East
Asian countries via JICA NET. JICA kindly agreed to make the VOD materials of the JICA NET Distance Education accessible under the educational framework of ISPRS. The VOD materials are now accessible
at the following site on test basis.
